and beyond...

Perimenopause

Perimenopause is the 5-8 years leading up to menopause (12 months after your last menstrual period). It is a time of hormonal transition that can greatly impact your mood and nervous system. Naturopath and author Lara Briden has compared perimenopause to second puberty! And the graph below nicely illustrates the hormonal fluctuations of perimenopause...

  • Mood changes

  • Menstrual changes and irregularities

  • Sleep disruption

  • Headaches and migraines

How I can help

Natural therapies: herbal tonics, targeted nutrients, and practical lifestyle adjustments can genuinely support you through this transition, easing symptoms while supporting your long-term wellbeing rather than just masking what’s happening.

I can specifically help with:

  • sleep and nervous system changes

  • mood, anxiety and emotional resilience

  • changing cycles and premenstrual symptoms

  • fatigue, weight and metabolic changes

  • digestive and microbiome health

  • bone, cardiovascular and healthy ageing foundations

  • working collaboratively with a GP when MHT or further medical investigation may be appropriate

Women's health in midlife has become a central focus of my practice. I undertake ongoing specialist mentoring in perimenopause and menopause with experienced clinicians alongside continuing education in herbal medicine, nutrition, healthy ageing and microbiome health.

Reach out if you’d like to discuss further.
